DESCRIPTION

Lot #: 58

Superb and such fine Americana. It was made in Hartford at the Misses Pattens’ school. I don’t see any rips or tears or punctures in the picture (except for the loss of inscription- it is under glass, and I think the frame might be original it looks like the glass was added at some point but using the same frame perhaps. Based on research I think this is the family of Captain Samuel Jones. His son Ralph Jones and Lydia Jones. All three are buried in the same cemetery, and the death dates match the inscription, also the gravestones have the same type of trees at the top of them that the picture has. Go to this link to find the actual grave info below. https://www.findagrave.com and look under Jones Street Cemetery the grave numbers are Ralph Jones 45193853 Birth: unknown Death: Jul. 3, 1808 Middle Haddam Middlesex County Connecticut, USA Image removed by sender. Son of Captain Samuel & Lydia; age 25 yrs., 8 days. Drowned at Middle Haddam. Burial: Jones Street Cemetery Hebron Tolland County Connecticut, USA Lydia Jones –4519382 Captian Samuel Jones 45193768.
