How we handle your collection
We never cut corners, so consignments need lead time before an auction date. Here is exactly what happens between your first photo and your check.
Step 01
Upload pictures and whatever you know — maker, history, measurements. A phone photo is fine to start.
Step 02
Our certified experts research comparable results and come back with an unbiased auction estimate at no cost — plus an honest answer on whether auction is the right route at all.
Step 03
Professional on-site photography, unbiased catalog descriptions, inventory and auction database tracking, and an advertising plan built around your item’s category.
Step 04
Live floor bidding plus online, absentee and phone bidding all run at once — then settlement follows the sale.

Estates, businesses & on-site sales
Auctions are conducted at our Oakwood gallery or on site at your location — whether a residence, an estate, a warehouse or a business. For a full household or a business wind-down, that is usually the practical route, and we handle the inventory, cataloging and photography on location.
Before you ask
Nothing. An initial auction estimate is free, whether you end up consigning or not. If you need a formal written appraisal for insurance, an estate or the IRS, that is a separate paid service billed at $195 per hour.
Commission depends on the item, the category and whether we are handling a single piece or an entire estate. We will tell you the rate before you commit to anything — there are no surprises after the sale.
We are honest when auction is the wrong route. Mass-produced furniture, most reproductions and items worth less than the cost of cataloging them are better sold another way, and we will say so and point you somewhere sensible.

Settlement follows the sale. We will give you the exact timing when you consign.
We will talk through the options — reoffering it in a later sale, adjusting the reserve, or returning it to you. It is a conversation, not an automatic outcome.
